Why 150 weekly Paceline minutes over 3+ days to earn my reward? How do I earn a streak?
Both the American Heart Association and World Health Organization state that 150 weekly minutes of physical activity “can help all people think, feel and sleep better and perform daily tasks more easily,” yet only 1 of 5 adults achieve this. In fact, Apple has defined their exercise minutes to reflect this exact recommendation: “Every full minute of movement that equals or exceeds the intensity of a brisk walk counts toward your daily Exercise and Move goals.” Fitbit and Garmin have done the same with active and intensity minutes, respectively. We believe these research-backed guidelines are simple to follow and realistic to maintain over time, so we developed the Paceline app around these principles.
Given that the recommendations above is for exercise spread throughout the week, Paceline users need to exercise for at least 3 days a week, with no more than 50 Paceline minutes from a single day qualifying towards the weekly goal of 150+ Paceline minutes.
The fastest you can earn the weekly reward is by getting 50 Paceline minutes each day on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Put another way, at a minimum, to qualify for a weekly reward you must have at least 50 Paceline minutes by Friday, 100+ Paceline minutes by Saturday, and 150+ Paceline minutes by Sunday.
A reminder: Paceline minutes are calculated by your Apple Watch, Fitbit, or Garmin and are NOT the same as workout or total time/duration minutes.
