What information can we see, why do we need it, and how is it used?
We ask that you link a card for a few reasons:
- To verify that you’re a real person (as we’re giving away real rewards),
- To determine current (and future) rewards we should be offering, and
- To inform what benefits and rewards we should offer on our credit card
When you link your card, we look at your favorite merchants and shopping categories so that we can tailor rewards based on your preferences.
To be transparent, here’s what we see:
- Where you shopped
- How much you spent
- Your account type
- Your spend limit
What we DON’T see:
- Your card number
- Your address
- Your account credentials (username and password)
- Those details are only shared directly with your bank via our partner Plaid (explanation here)
- What you actually bought from a given store
And if you're curious, the perks we have rolled out so far are centered around this information, such as:
- Amazon (most popular store)
- Target (second most popular store)
