Do you sell the data?
No, we don't sell your data.
Depending on the reward, for now, we either pay the cost or work with our reward partners directly to provide the service to you. We're hoping to prove a point that people like to be rewarded with tangible health and wellness-related products for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Future opportunities for us to make money include offering financial services (e.g., a credit card where rewards are driven by consumer spending in addition to user exercise), or charging for a platform where brands can target individuals with products (e.g., an apparel company that wants to give you stuff because you’re healthy, and you shopped at their competitor).
Again, we don’t sell the information. In fact, we are looking at ways for the future state where you, the user, can agree to share data ONLY when you claim a reward (although we will be upfront with you as to what data you're specifically sharing. To add on to the same apparel company example from above, it would be something to the effect of how you shopped at their competitor on March 1st). If you don’t care for the reward and you don’t claim it, you don’t share your data - simple as that. Unlike other services out there, with Paceline, you benefit and profit off your data.
